Green Lifestyle Tips

Many of us nowadays want to be more Environmentally friendly, but just
don't know what we can do to help. These hints will cost you close to no
time, save you money, improve your health and you’ll be doing something
good for the environment!
Bought new eye-glasses - What can you do with your redundant pair?
Maybe
your old eye-glasses are not what you want anymore, but they can help
millions of people with eyesight issues. With nearly 87% of the world's
vision impaired living in under or developing countries, this little act
can make a big difference their lives. Your unused eye-glasses can
change their life quality substantially. Apart from helping with
pollution, giving away your old eye-glasses will certainly make you feel
great.
Don't let the rain go to waste - make use of it
It
is probably not the best idea to drink rain water, but it can be good
for watering your garden or washing driveway. There is an extensive
offer of barrels in shops, or you can make your own.
Drying your clothes the natural way - outside
This
technology was used by our mothers and grandmothers and guess what, it
still works! If you hang your washing out, not only you don't need to
pay for electricity to dry it, but your clothes will get the fresh smell
of sun and wind, something you can never really get with an electric
tool. Individuals worry that they many be judged unfavourably if they
put washing outside and are bothered people may think less of them. Be
proud of supporting the world, green is in and you can do your bit quite
easily.
Make use of a shower, it saves on water bills
The
amount of water that a bath needs can increase your bills a lot also
staying in the bath or shower too long can develop health troubles for
you . You can drink the water from your taps without problems but with
the high concentration of chlorine in it, the fumes given out when you
heat it can have a serious impact on your health. Save more money by
installing a shower head that controls the flow and amount of water you
use, you will be surprised at the difference this can make.
Share a car ride with one or two work mates
Car
sharing is not a new topic and it is supported by authorities, but many
individuals still don't do it through lack of incentive or knowledge.
Unfortunately, as a Toronto condos
realtor I have to drive a lot. Take an average car owner, they commute
about 100 km a week and around 5000 km a year. By teaming up with a work
mate you could save around 170 litres of fuel a year which is a lot of
cash and it protects the environment by cutting carbon dioxide by around
400kg over the same period. Some business's have a car sharing scheme
already set up which is worth checking into, if not try and set one up
yourself; ask around to see who would be interested in saving money.
